PM Shehbaz Sharif promises to protect the rights of farmers no matter what. However, the federal government does not seem to be serious about the in-depth investigation.
A committee is formed to look over the faults in imports done by the people involved in the scam. The cabinet secretary, Kamran Ali Afzal, is leading this committee and will complete the report about the assigned task before next week.
The former prime minister Nawaz Sharif wants the current PM and his brother Shehbaz Sharif to investigate the scam indiscriminately. It is also suggested to involve NAB or FIA in the investigation.
Shehbaz Sharif does not want to engage the NAB or FIA as the scam involves the former caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq’s government, so Shehbaz is taking each step carefully.
Attaullah Tara chose to remain silent when asked why authorities are not questioning the former caretaker prime minister about the scam that exceeds 500 million rupees.
News was circulating that the committee summoned Anwar-ul-Haq and Mohsin Naqvi, but Kamran Afzal denied it and said that the committee summoned the former caretaker finance minister.
The caretaker PM and Hanif Abbasi got into a verbal fight over this scam. At this PTI also jumped in and said that their feud was an eye-opener.
On the other hand, the current PM vows to protect the farmers at any cost. Leading a meeting at his residence he advised the ministry to review the matter of wheat acquisition and address the farmers’ concerns in four days. He also ordered the officials to monitor the process of procurement in person so that every farmer receives his payment on time.
The PM also said the government will make sure to provide each and every farmer with protection and will ensure their well-being. He also expressed his thrill over the abundant harvest of wheat crops.
