Last year, on the 9th of May, authorities arrested the former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, in a graft case. His arrest prompted people to protest and use violence, leading to a complete crackdown launched against his party members.
The members of PTI claimed that the government arrested more than 10,000 of their workers. They also challenged the charges against them saying that this was all planned by the establishment to take apart their party PM Shehbaz stated that we will never forget the martyrs and will remember this day as a revolt against the state. PM Shehbaz used this case against Imran’s party and accused him of various corruption cases.
He further added that the planners had intended to cause uproar in public and create discord between the public. He continuously highlighted that the events of May 9 were pre-planned.
The police have not been able to arrest the suspects of this case even though a year has passed. PM Shebaz is making statements against Imran Kan and his party forgetting that he is responsible for punishing the involved suspects and the public will definitely question him about what he is doing about the case.
He also said that right now there are two groups of people one who is ready to sacrifice everything for his homeland while the other is burning in a fire of revenge against the state and its army. PM Shehbaz pledged that he will make sure that another day like this never happens.
The heads of armed forces said that the people’s brainwashing against their own homeland, state, and army led to rebellion. In this rebellion not only people lost their lives but the state was also damaged. ISPR said the citizens should come together for the sake of the prosperity of our beloved country.
Many other politicians including CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto also expressed their feelings about the incident of May 9.
